A charity concert Chulpan Khamatova, Gidons Krēmers & Kremerata Baltica orchestra participants. This musical-poetic concert starring Latvian musician Gidons Krēmers and actress Chulpan Khamatova was performed only twice — in Riga and London.
This is a first Moscow show within the Festival. You will meet the mix of Marina Tsvetaeva`s and Latvian author Áspazija`s poetry and Dimitri IVONNA, PRINCESS OF BURGUNDIA Directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna (Poland), Theatre of Nations Moscow, Russia Grzegorz Jarzyna, Polish director, is opening his first performance in Russia at the Theatre of Nations. The show is based on a play by Witold Gombrowicz «Yvonne, Princess of Burgundy». Jarzyna sees the story of the main character Yvonne — a young girl of saturnine temper, who finds herself amongst the royal family members — through the actual family of the playwright, who indeed uses real people he knew as prototypes in his grotesque story. Gombrowicz creates such peculiar characters, that the whole play is balancing between comedy and psychological thriller. It is exactly this combination that is the key one for Jarzyna — it allows to reveal all the social and ethical issues that are embedded in the play. 66 Shostakovich`s, Valentin Silvestrov `s and Georgs Pelecis`s music. Specially for this show there will be created a new multimedia piece by a young artist which will become a part of the performance. All the money received from the ticket sales will be given to the «Gift of Life» fund.
