The first theatre production by Rabih Mroué in Poland tackles the story of Andrzej Lepper, one of the most controversial personalities on the Polish political scene of the last twenty years. The leader of the Polish Samoobrona party was a politician exceptionally present in the media, very emotive and yet doggedly described by easy and sometimes stereotypical opinions. It was almost as if various social groups had projected their own fears, needs and obsessions onto Lepper. Together with the actors of the theatre in Bydgoszcz, Mroué looks into the figure of Andrzej Lepper while unveiling different, sometimes surprising perspectives of Polish transformation.
