The Purple Stone Street is the first classical musical drama in China which is adapted from one of China's four classic Water Margin.

In Song Dynasty, many ordinary people lived in the Purple Street, including Lady Wang, Little Hun, Uncle He and Dalang Wu. Dalang.

Wu was short and ugly, but he had a beautiful wife Jinlian Pan. Someday, an unexpected person came to the street…and, the story began.

The play is about a familiar Chinese story about Jinlian Pan,a woman's controversial fate in Water Margin.

Starring: Yunwei Dang, Wei Zuo, Qi Qi, Ruoxun Chen

Jun Wan, the composer and lyricist of the song Flying to the Sky and some other famous background music; the screenwriter of the TV play One and Eight; the director and producer of many plays.

Comment: The story of the play The Purple Stone Street of Water Margin remains faithful to the book Water Margin to a certain extent. More than that, the director Jun Wan tried many innovative approaches in this play, including the creative technique 3-D projection. The stage design and the music are full of modern elements. The chief actress Jinlian Pan is beautiful. Moreover, the opening of the play is intensive, with the taste of a little bit of pop music. I was addicted to it at once. Jun Wan, the composer, the lyricist, the screenwriter and the director of this play, combined the Chinese traditional story with the foreign musical patterns. He said he has done a satisfactory job.
