Krzysztof Globisz plays the titular Whale which suddenly gets washed ashore. Zuzanna Skolias and Marta Ledwoń are the Greenpeace activists who try to rescue him, singing songs and pouring water over him. But who is actually helping whom? The text, by acclaimed, award-winning playwright Mateusz Pakuła, tells a story of empathy, recovery, helping others with words and with what words cannot express, the healing power of music, sensitivity, childbirth and the limits of imagination.
THE WHALE THE GLOBE is a text dedicated to Krzysztof Globisz. After a stroke, the actor made his stage comeback in the play The Supplicants, directed by Paweł Miśkiewicz at the National Stary Theatre. He is still undergoing rehabilitation and is gradually overcoming paralysis and aphasia.
“We are trying to find the words—together with Krzysztof”, says Eva Rysová, the director of the play, about the process of working on the show.
