I wanted to make a statement about the present situation – what is happening with the people, wanted to reflect on the concept of a “small man”. Podsekalnikov, the main character, thinks that he “wants to live”, wants to go to work, wants to love – and it all may sound very down to earth, but for us his thoughts are significant.
