For the Alexandrinsky Theater working with Andriy Zholdak lies in the field of exploring the ways and forms of developing contemporary theatre language on the academy stage.

The play is set in distant future, the year 4015 by the human scale of time. As a result of a reincarnation experiment the Three Sisters – Masha, Irina and Olga, who died in 1900, come alive in the new world. The chrestomathy text of Chekhov’s play “Three Sisters” is ‘loaded” into the revived brain. Sounds, noises and consonances, fragments of the phrases once said arouse visions of the past, and at the same time give an opportunity to start a new life. So the forgotten words are voiced with similar hope and sadness, regardless of the destination the heroines of the 41st century long for – a faraway space station or the ancient capital of the Russian Empire. Is there any chance to go beyond the preset program when you decide to change our destiny? Finding an answer to this question is the core of the experiment.
