If you take full story Zamyatin's “The Flood” and dramatize it, you’ll get a thriller, as the material is really quite gloomy. My task was to avoid this. In the dramatization the author's “dark” text is left out. I left minimum text. All the rest is up to the actors they show what is happening with the characters, their inner life, their inner drama, tragedy. All this had to be “said” by the means of silence, of plastic.
