“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” – is just the right play if you are looking for a vast variety of roles and creative freedom for the imagination of the designer and all the set… One of the things I had in mind was the aim to make something very simple, some kind of a student production with no complex technical features, no technologies behind it all. During our rehearsals the fabric cover used each night to protect the seats came to life, turning into a grassplot, a wave, a dress, a forest, pillars. This was how we found our key to creating the world of elves and fairies, keeping all the magic, but leaving out the infantilism. In the end we have a seeming visibility, and it stays simple.
